The name behind the veil
Our name is a play on words, honouring both the skilled craftsmanship of the ancient guilds and the mysterious veil that separates the everyday world from the realms of intuition, dreams and spirit. It is within that liminal space that we believe the finest divination tools are born, where artistry, symbolism and imagination come together to create something truly magical.
The Guilded Veil is an online destination for carefully curated indie tarot decks, handcrafted divination tools and meaningful spiritual treasures. We celebrate independent artists whose work tells a story, whose creativity is born from passion rather than production lines and whose decks invite us into rich, immersive worlds of symbolism and self-discovery.
Tarot has been part of my life for nearly forty years. Throughout those decades I have read with many different decks, but the ones that have remained closest to my heart are those created with genuine vision and craftsmanship. A tarot deck is more than a collection of cards. It is an artist's journey, a conversation between creator and reader and a companion that grows more meaningful with every reading. That belief lies at the very heart of The Guilded Veil.
The decks we're beginning with
Our soon-to-be-growing collection of independent tarot decks begins with six extraordinary creations: Somnia Tarot, Rooted Remembrance, The Shadows We Cast, Cosmosis Tarot and Lucid Dreams Tarot, available in both the elegant Beige edition and the dramatic Black Eclipse edition. Every deck has been chosen because it offers something unique, whether through breathtaking artwork, thoughtful symbolism, imaginative storytelling or an atmosphere that lingers long after the cards have been returned to their box.
Alongside our carefully selected tarot decks, we are delighted to offer handmade pendulums for dowsing and beautifully crafted handmade rune sets. Like the decks we choose, these are created with care, intention and respect for traditional craftsmanship, becoming treasured companions for meditation, divination and spiritual practice.
Why we never stock AI-generated tarot
Our ethos is wonderfully simple. We do not stock AI-generated tarot decks, nor do we believe in mass-produced collections that lack the heart of their creator. Every deck we offer has been imagined, illustrated and brought to life by an independent artist whose vision deserves to be celebrated. We believe that creativity has energy, that stories matter and that the connection between artist, reader and deck is something that cannot be replicated by artificial intelligence.
